Market Events » Brixton Give & Take Market

Having a clear out and want to get rid of unwanted items? On the look out for good condition second hand items? All for free? Then come on down to the Popes Road end of Brixton Station Road on Saturday the 29th September 2012.
You are welcome to take items without giving and to give without taking.
How does it work?
Give - Between 10am – 12.30pm. Come to Brixton Station Road and follow signs to the drop off areas. We’ll put the donated items out on the stalls for later! Give: furniture, books, toys, bric-a-brac, clothes, shoes, plants, bikes, musical instruments, camping equipment and everything in between to put out on the stalls and find new homes for!
Please note: we’ll still be accepting small donations throughout the day, particularly small electricals. If you need to drop off donation on another date please email us and we’ll see what we can do.
Take - From 1pm - 5pm we open to the public. Come and browse the stalls and help yourself! A team of volunteers will be around to help you find what you need. If you can’t transport your items then and there we’ll keep them aside for you wherever possible.
Please note: This event is aimed at families, households and individuals who can make use of other people’s unwanted items, therefore we may restrict what each individual is allowed to take away and ask that you don’t take away items with an ‘I’m taken’ sticker on them.
Recycle - Bring down unwanted broken electrical items ALL DAY, these will be collected in a giant pink skip and taken to be recycled by Veolia. This helps recover valuable materials and prevents unnecessary landfilling.
Repair - Join our many workshops on the day, brought to you by local artist and organisations, to inspire ideas on how to re-use clothes, repair bikes, make gifts out of scraps, fix things up and share skills.
