The street markets in Electric Avenue and Pope's Road are run by LB Lambeth; the famous market arcades Brixton Village and Market Row are run by Inshops Retail; the tiny Reliance Arcade is managed by Hooper Naylor Friend; and Walter G. Elms regularly has lock-up shops to rent in the general market area.
We are a community market!
Brixton Station Road Community Markets are run by Brixton Market Traders’ Federation – which means they are run by Brixton's street traders! Our markets aren't owned by a private corporation, nor operated by the local Council.
The Federation is a registered Community Interest Company. Any profit made goes straight back into the community - through investing in the social aspects of the market and by supporting local charity organisations such as the Brixton Community Trust.
We realise that running a business like ours comes with a social responsibility and therefore great opportunity. After all, the street is for everyone to share, so we aim to support, maintain and strengthen this community spirit of which we're part.
